Insurance - 3rd Party Liability only

Does any one know if it is possible to get only 3rd party insurance for my dog?
He's fairly ancient now and I've decided it makes little sense to pay a very high premium for his Vet bills cover, when the excess has been raised and main conditions have been excluded. Therefore I'll pay same amount into a savings account for him in case of emergencies, but would still like 3rd party liability in case he causes an accident or similar.
Spoken to current provider (tesco) and they won't offer just this.

to be honest ive never heard of this type of insurance.... i dont know whether you would be bound to pay something if he does cause an accident or something????

Have you tried NFU? I know I have this on my policy for Popple

Many household insurances include this with normal cover.
