insurance - alternative husbandry costs

Think it's things like chiropractic and osteopathy, possibly remedial shoeing. You have to read the small print on these things extremely carefully - it's usually only on vet's advice, and there's often quite a low limit on how much you can spend.

Mine has a separate section for alternative therapies and things like remedial shoeing shoeing to alternative husbandry costs.

Don't have my policy to hand but think it is things like special/extra bedding, feed etc.
So extra costs in keeping your horse that are because of the injury or illness.

My friend had this on her policy, they basically paid for any addition cost that were involed, so if the horse is out 24/7, but requires box rest you can claim for the extra bedding that you have to buy, she also claim for the horse going onto assisted livery.
