Am thinking maybe i should get Blue insured for vet fees.

I cannot fault Pet Plan. They have payed out quickly and promptly with all 3 of my claims. The staff I have spoken to have always been helpful and kind.

I pay £26 a month, but that will go up now I've claimed.

The poor dog is too elderly to be insured.

Quote from E and L is £27 a month which is pretty good? What are they like?

Pet plan Equine all the way, slightly more expensive, but the service, response, and no quibbles over claims is well worth the extra, and dont go near E&L, evil, evil people. I nearly ended up in court with them over a claim, tried every trick in the book to get out of paying, it was only coz i was working for a solicitor at the time that they eventually paid out.

I used to be with E & L but heard soooo many bad stories that I changed to Amtrust who seem good and offer a very good policy. NFU are well worth a look, think I would have gone with them if they hadn't put an exclusion on Pheobe's WHOLE foot just because she had a foot abcess caused through nail bind a couple of months prior to getting a quote, thought that was pretty harsh considering she passed a vet and had nothing wrong with her and never had any problems before!
Good luck

Another vote for AMTRUST here. They were brilliant with me when i had to have my mare PTS last year. She was only 5 and we could have gone down the expensive long term treatment route but the reality was she was never going to be sound again and would always be in pain. So they agreed that her being PTS was the kindest option for her. They paid out very quickly and were great to deal with over the phone.

Dont touch E&L - i have had a hidious experience with them. Took 3 years to get payment out of them for a very straight forward claim!

Amtrust Equine all the way! Expensive but there's a reason why...they pay out, they pay your vet directly, they are pleasant and knowledgeable to deal with...I could go on!

I was with Equestrian Direct for years but moved one horse over to Amtrust and now that I'm trying to claim with ED (or the new company who owns them!), I'm wishing I had him with Amtrust too.

Steer clear of E&L. Never pay out! They're cheap for a reason

Another one who has heard too many horror stories to even contemplate E&L.

I am with NFU and they are currently dealing fantastically with a rather hefty claim I am putting in
