I have had to contact my insurance company as my girl has picked up a virus :( the vets have been out taken bloods, prescribed antibiotics for any secondary infections and also ventipulmen, they are coming again on Friday to carry out an endoscope and take samples and will also do a dental examination.

How quick are NFU usually to notify you if your claim has been accepted?

And secondly will she now have exclusions on her policy for any other virus she may pick up? or will it be classed as something else?

It will depend on how busy they are and of course how quick you and your vet are to send off all information. They will no doubt want full copy of all test results too

I'm with south Essex and they didn't put any exclusions on my policy when my horse had a nasty virus

Currently going through a claim with NFU! They were dead quick with me and have subsequently paid out quickly aswell :) not an issue with them so far! My lad will have both front legs excluded due to the surgery he had

Glad to hear NFU where quick with you Alex.

They said they would deal with the vets directly, so im assuming i need do nothing more at the moment and the vets will deal with it accordingly.

Soulfull - i know its a different company, but nice to hear they didn't put any exclusions on, hopefully NFU won't either.
