Hi Jack

I insured my mare with Petplan in April. They didn't want a vets cert for anything less than £3 k, so unless you have bought something for more than that, I would get back onto them - maybe you got the work experience kid on the phone!

£3k of vets fees is not enough. My mare is in hospital with a tooth abscess and the tooth has been removed, however complications have meant that she is still in there and the vets fees are about to approach the £5k limit, and that is with the vet not charging me for things, otherwise the fees would be much much higher. Such a simple thing has resulted in massive fees, so beware!!

hiya - no its online!! she arrives tomorow and im panicing as she wont be insured...

it will be monday after 10 am before i can ring them and then its pushing it....

i would go with SEIB but they want it upfront!!! i just want to pay monthly.... and cover start today :/

ets - yes shes less than 3k

Give them a ring first thing Monday morning. I only paid £1200 for mine and they didn't even ask for a vets cert. There is a 14 day cooling off period anyway after you take the insurance out, so effectively if she gets an illness within the first 14 days, she isn't covered anyway, however I believe that injuries are covered. You would be very unlucky if something happened the first night you brought her home!
The vets cert doesn't affect them paying out either. I would fully recommend Petplan. I have had to claim for the mare I bought in April and they have been great and were also great when my old boy fractured his leg.

but i will keep her in anyhow sunday and ring them monday asap....and shes not going out till tuesday at least lol! :)

but good news!!! i have a saddle :D

shes 4 year old warmblood x, very pretty.

Shes very quiet, needs schooling - can walk/trot under saddle just needs to learn canter :) but that will come in time :)

my plans are to get her out dressage asap, and then when shes 5ish(mabey older) start jumping....

but i will introduce poles next spring. I just want to get to know her over winter, and do some walk/trot dressage

i said all along - and mean it - i do dressage to take part and not win - as its not all about wining to me (seriously :D )!

:)

i will stick them on tomorow when she lands as im sure i will have tons more :D

she is right for what i want :) just get this flipping insurance sorted :)
