I'm looking to get my horse insured. I've claimed on him before 3 years ago but I let the insurance lapse and since my divorce don't have savings to fall back on.

Is 15 too old to get covered? Anyone have recommendations for companies that might cover an older horse?

Personally I would cover it. Your probably talking £60 ish a month for a policy with £5k vet fees cover. This obviously varies with different companies.
But if… you can save that over the year then do that. I personally couldnt, Id spend it on more matchy matchy I probably dont need 🤣
The way that vet fees are I prefer to be insured. Then at least I know if Im out on road and an accident happens then Im fully covered.
If your horse has had KS they may exclude that and not allow you to claim on it.
I paid probably £6000 over 9 years for my horse to be insured. In that whole time, I only needed the vet twice, both ended up vet horsepital visits, so first time was £4,000 second time was £8,000. At the time I was only covered for £3250 but I found it really worth it because it all adds up fairly quickly.
