so my mare has arthritus in her knees and is now a full time companion to my highland x, she is still insured under older horse insurance, was considering cancelling it, save some money. Does anyone have thier field companions insured? thanks

I insure (or should say will insure as from 1st July) my old boy on bhs gold - personal liability only, just incase he ever feels the urge to jump out the field and play chase with the cars...

I ensured my wee field companion - mainly for the 3rd party aspect incase he escaped - which he was really good at!! it was only £3 per month

I insure for public liability. There is a minimum value of £500 with NFU and this would pay out if they had to be PTS due to injury. It is about £8 per month. Having had mine let out and also a car go through the fence it gives peace of mind that if they did get out and cause an accident I would be covered.
