Ok, so I'm shopping for insurance, as loan horse Ellis is arriving on Saturday (how excited am i!).
Just wondered if anyone can recommend a reasonable insurer? He's just going to be insured for vets fees and third party, and will not have a high 'value'.
I've used NFU and Kbis in the past, but never claimed. Just wondered if anyone can suggest a cheap reliable insurer that would suit me?

I'm with NFU for my 'pleasure' horse, that includes vets fees and 3rd party etc and is about £500 on a low value TB exracer. My others are just covered for mortality via Ian Pratt; this is exellent value for money, usually arranged as a percentage of the purchase price.

I'm with Shearwater for my cheap TB. Vets fees, 3rd party, death etc - around £250. I asked my vet friends to recommend companies that dealt with claims well and they said pet plan, NFU, KBIS, SEIB and Shearwater were good.

NFU came out more expensive for my ex racer mare - low value, I just for vets fees, death, 3rd party etc. I was quite surprised! Petplan were very good and paid out on all claims in full, no problems.
