Insurance for International FEI Event ?

Has anyone arranged insurance for competing a show jumping event abroad - all our horse and liability insurances are only valid in UK and thinking we at least need liability, medical etc - going round in circles with insurance brokers ?! Thanks

Have you tried Shearwater? It’s some years ago but we took our horse to a TREC competition in Italy and we managed to insure him. I was with Shearwater then so assume I got it through them.

Or Lycetts as they do racehorse insurance so overseas travel.

My horse insurance I selected as it covers a number of days in the EU, I just warn them before. NFU covers most of the rest for us plus there’s liability through our national federation. Howdens do the federations insurance.

A lot of insurers can extend the policy under special requests - usually an underwriting referral. Contact your existing insurers first as overlapping insurance may give you complications.
