Insurance for older horses

Are there any insurance companies that will insure for vets fees resulting from illness in an older horse? All the ones I have tried seem to cover injury only.

I am with Petplan for my 19 year old cob and he is covered for full illness until his 25th birthday. You do have to take out the policy before their 20th birthday to take advantage of this though.

Just on this, make sure you double check all the wording, my mare was insured with petplan aged 18 on their veteran policy - and wasnt covered for laminitis! I really do rate pet plan though!!
