So, I've nearly finished putting up a block of 3 12x12 stables on my new field. I'm thinking I should get them insured against fire and theft as I couldn't afford to replace them if lost.
Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced company that would cover them.
SEIB quoted me nearly £300 which I though was quite a lot but being new to this maybe this is the going rate???...

If you only want to cover fire and theft, £300 is ridiculous. We not try the NFU Mutual - they are very competitive and the service is very good to.

Oh that's way too much, sorry. I would shop around. I had full Business Insurance on my livery stables up till 2 years ago in Hampshire. My insurance covered 15 stables and 35 acres of land, 15 horses, full set of showjumps and all trailers (regardless of owners) stored at my property, all tack stored on yard, field maintenance equipment and liability for all the livery horses for just under £300. That was with NFU - perhaps worth a call?
