Good morning everybody, I've just called my insurance company regarding my horse having his tooth out and been told that the insurance does not cover teeth and gums. Great. I was informed that this was fairly standard practise with horse insurance. Have any of you out there experienced this? They seemed so 'nice' when I set up the policy too...........

Your T&C's will tell you exactly what's excluded.

However, it doesn't cost very much - so seems pointless claiming on insurance to me.

I've been quoted between £1500 to £3000 which seems fairly standard. That's a lot of money.

Wow, sorry - that's a huge amount.

I guess it's being done at hospital under full sedation.

It's definitely a bugger then not being covered:(

I never knew teeth weren't covered. Obviously small things aren't worth claiming for but that is massive. Which insurance are you with

Depends on your policy. I've certainly had teeth covered.

OP I would have a good, close read of your T&C's and then a chat with the insurance company.

I'm with Animal Friends, apparently it's 'feel good insurance'. I'm not feeling good:eek:. Thanks for your advice guys.
