Hi all,

I posted this on the Breeding forum last night, but no response, so any ideas?

I was just wondering what insurances you should have in place to cover visiting mares and any idea of cost? Any advice?

Someone must know!

Hi all,

I have a 'care & control' section in my policy (to a maximum value of £10,000 per horse) which incorporates Public Liability, Employer Liability, my buildings, tack, etc etc all for a total price - and the policy is based on a specific number of horses - so can't give you an accurate cost. It of course doesn't cover 'normal' illness/accidents - owners SHOULD have their mares insured - it covers my liability to the horse owner if I were negligent.

I recently changed my policy to KBIS and found them VERY helpful (as well as very competitive!:D) If you give them a call, explain your circumstances and the number of horses you are likely to have visiting, they'll give you a quote.
