Quite shocking that apparently people are injuring and even killing their dogs so they can claim on the insurance!

seems a rather odd scam tho, injuring your pet to fraudently claim the vets fees since dont most policies pay vet fees straight to the vet or you have to pay upfront and claim the money back?

all the same this has really shocked me. You get a pet because you want to love it, you feed it, care for it and it becomes a treasured member of your family.
That more than a few people can be so utterly heartless to injure/kill animals that might have shared their home and life for years so easily for what i cant imagine is a huge profit is actually heartbreaking.

Unfortunatley this is prevalent in the horse world too - most particularly racing.

LOL - where there's money there are swindles! Just think how valuable some race horses are. Taking into account we are in a recession and plenty of businesses feeling the pinch - it doesn't take much to work out

Cant believe thats what you are basing this on, just imagine how much the premium for a NH horse would be, people wont pay it.

But fraudulent claims have to be proved before premiums are raised for multiple race horse owners?

Go and ask for a quote thats if they will even give you one. Ive known plenty of owners and they have never insured their horses .

There is fraud in every sport whether that is public knowledge or not and insurance fraud is one of the biggest spinners.

But going back to the original post - considering the lowest depths of human society and the ghastly world we have produced - it is hardly surprising that people are cashing in on what we, "normal" people would find abhorrent
