Just a few questions on insurance....

Does everyone insure all their horses?

Ie do you insure your youngsters?

Do you opt for third party liability ?

Who do you insure with?

Thank you!!

Yes i ALWAYS insure mine, for the sake of £30 a month each i have piece of mind knowing they can get the best treatment without worrying about costs!

I think people are silly not to insure a horse, and the only case where i probably wouldnt insure fully is if it was a really old horse that would be put down if anything was to happen. Third party is common sense.

I'm with KBIS for both of mine, they have been extremely good with my mare. Highly recommend them! x

I insure all my horses in work- I didn't insure my youngster until he was backed, and I don't insure our shetland companion now, it depends on how much their worth really, I am kind of in 2 minds- insurance companies are so limited as to what they cover these days and how much, it almost seems as if you'd be better off putting the money into a savings account, but on the other hand where would you be if a horse badly injured itself and one expensive procedure would save its life and its career but you couldn't afford it?
All of them have 3rd party though, I think it would be mad not to- I'm just a gold member of the BHS for the 3rd party insurance! Insure the horses and our trailer with seib after having lovely arguments with petplan equine who told us it was our fault our horse injured himself in the filed
