If insurance has excluded 'lameness and associated back muscles', will they cover an investigation into a loss of performance under saddle (the horse does not enjoy being ridden)

Or will they somehow be connected?

Loss of performance under saddle could be attributed to lots of different things like respiratory infection, tying up, virus, lack of correct food (no offence intended), unfitness, anaemia, depression and about a hundred other things (I would have thought). I'd ask you vet for their opinion but at the end of the day unless you have it looked at you will never know what it could be. My best bet would be to have a blood test done which would be able to pick up a possible virus or anaemia type problems.

Thanks

He does have a history of physical problems and I think as he has gotten older they have caught up with him, but I would like to know what's going. Although I dont know whether insurance will cover investigation.
