Hello all, a quick question. My mare is currently undergoing tests and xrays to try and pinpoint the cause of lameness in her right hind. The vet thinks it's coming from the foot but findings are as yet inconclusive. She is fully insured, but there is an exclusion on the policy, reviewable after 12 months, on her right hind fetlock, dating back three years. I thought I had had this reviewed but it seems I hadn't. My vet has seen her regularly (as she used to need sedation for shoeing) and has written to them stating that until this lameness three weeks ago, the horse has been sound on her right hind for three years and in regular work, and that the lameness was not due to any tendon, bone or ligament issue. The insurance company has said that in principle this should be fine, but I am worried they may use this as a reason not to pay out. Has anyone had any experience of the kind (I am with scottish equestrian)?
