Insurance question re: amending policies

My insurance is up for renewal in April. Currently insured for public liability, vets fees, death/straying. I am not sure whether to insure for vets fees again this year, and was wondering if I renew my policy without but then decide I don't want to take the risk at a later date and want the vet fees cover, will they allow me to add it on?

depends on the company. some may be suspicious and ask for a full vetting others may just ask for report from your vet

I think it is best to ask them, say you are out of work at the moment so need to keep costs right down until you have a new job
