Insurance question - sorry!

I have to get Hugo's insurance sorted soon as. I had decided on NFU as they are reasonably priced, had a good reputation and they have a branch office 2 minutes from my house! And now there is all this worrying stuff about them not paying up.

PetPlan Equine seem good but SOOOO expensive and I wouldn't use E&L.
I've seen KBIS and SEIB mentioned favourably - could anyone comment? Or recommend anyone else?

I have always used petplan. True a little more expensive but they have settled any claims within 3-4 weeks. I also use petplan for my dog and they have just settled a bill within a week.
One lives in hope, as with all insurances. that we will never have to claim.

We had a claim last year and NFU paid - slowly, but they did pay in full.

I use AmTrust. It's a very good company to deal with.

I have used SEIB on mine in the past, they had a brilliant customer service and always paid out direct to vets, no hassle

We use SEIB. I was going to switch to NFU following comments on the forum but SEIB matched then undercut the cheapest quote on like for like insurance so I went with them. We've never had to claim though so I can't comment on that aspect.

Pet plan was over twice the amount quoted by the other insurers for the same cover.
