One of our guys got a little excited today and took the door off one of our nice, newly-moved-into stables.
It doesn't look too bad, but the door frame definately needs replacing if the doors themselves don't.
Now, we technically rent the paddock and the stables, and therefore I think I'm right in saying that our horse has damaged a third party's property; I was thinking about trying to claim against the third party liability section of our insurance.
Unfortunately, the policy wording only talks about paying out if you've been dragged to court. Does anyone know if insurers tend to help out if you've damaged something but both want to settle it without the faff of court?
