Probably a daft question but the new boy is 2 in May.... Will be a hunter so group 2 on the insurance polices, would you insure him in group 1 now and in a couple yrs time change the catagory???? or is it easier to just insure now for what you intend to do??

Any recommendations on insurance to mainly cover veterinary without breaking the bank too much?

I wouldn't be insuring him for hunting until he's actually going to be doing it. I left the value of my youngster very low until the point where she was backed and then I increased value as well as cover. No point paying for what you don't need. I would make a point of telling them he's not ridden yet though because of his age, just in case you get a non horsey person.

I have BHS Gold for 3rd party because having two horses it's much cheaper than insuring with each horse, I don't do loss of use and I have £5k of vets fees. I keep the value as low as possible too because I'm not interested in a payout if anything happens to them, I just want vet fees covered. It's much cheaper this way. :)
