I sent my claim form off in november and the last invoice they had was in January, needless to say the vets are now chasing for money and i've constantly been on the phone to the ins company asking when my settlement figure will arrive and they keep saying it's being decided still and it shouldn't be too long! I'm getting myself so worked up as i want to keep up a good relationship with my vet and as the ins company are supposed to pay them direct i feel a bit useless really.I'm going to change ins company's the minute i've sorted this claim out.Do i need to tell the next ins company all about her injury etc ? I suppose if i change ins companies i won't be able to get any money help in future with the regards to the injury concerned.Sorry never had to claim before so am a novice when it comes to this stuff.

Your vet will be used to dealing with insurance companies - so whilst they may be sending you remainders, as long as you keep them up to speed with what's going on there shouldn't be a problem.

As for changing companies - well unless you are with one that you are unsatisfied with then I wouldn't. However, you will have to tell any new company about previous claims on injuries/illness etc.

I know it's worrying but try not to. As long as you keep your vets in the picture they will be fine. This happens all the time to them. They know that you've made a claim & they'll also know that some insurance claims take longer to settle than others. Just keep the pressure up on the insurance company..........Which insurance co is it?

Which company is it? If it is the one I am guessing, give them a date to settle within seven days after which time say you will contact the ombudsman. It seems to have a miraculous effect on them!

They can take a while to pay up but your vets should be used to that. If you do change insurance companies you will have to tell them about any previous illnesses or claims youve had. They will then probably put exclusions on your policy so you cant claim for the same injury and also up your quote!! Id stick with the one you have unless there are serious problems.

Yes it is the one your quessing! Don't want to say it though as it's probably the biggest regret of my life going with them! I'll keep your advice on that one in mind, what is a Ombudsman by the way?
