I have never insured our dogs before, but I would like to insure the my new one when I get her, who have people used and who would you recommend on service, payouts (hopefully not needed) and premiums etc???
Thank-you

I can only personally recommend PetPlan....slightly more expensive than other company's..but worth it...for the amount of life cover u get, also cover an ailment for life as opposed to some that only cover for 12 months at a time.
Marks&Spencer are aslo worth a look at.

echo Petplan, have always paid out without question even when my older dog had to have £800 worth of MRI scan plus Xrays etc etc when she hurt her back last year. Not the cheapest but I would say the best.

Have the younger dog insured with Tesco to save some pennies but will switch her to Petplan when she is a little older.

Both of mine are insured with More Than. They insure for life not just limited period. Reasonable price. Haven't had to claim, 'fingers crossed I won't have to', so don't how they are regards payout.

Would only use Petplan (& go for life cover).

Have used Direct Line before - wouldn't recommend.

I have all four of mine with direct line and they are fab IMHO. Since we have been with them Kia (eldest bitch)had to have an op on her back leg due to the joint slipping out everytime she layed down. She had to go to a specialist for this. Direct Line paid out £1670 straight away. She also had a grass seed alergy which we didnt know to begin with so she had various test to see what it was, again £245 paid straight away.

Youngest bitch ate slug killer pellets last year and nearly lost her life. She spent a week and a half in hopital with loads of different drugs to stop her fitting £680 i think the bill was and this was also paid straight away. We also get discount as we have 4 dogs. They used to be with PetPlan but we didnt find them very helpful.
