Yes. My sec D had to have a wind op. Also sarcoids treatments, lameness work ups etc. I also had a pony pts and they paid out for death and disposal.

I wouldn't expect to pre notify for sarcoid treatment or lameness work up, just one or 2 specific things and they were specified in the policy documents so it actually said mri and scintigraphy.

I just had a look at petplan's terms and conditions and they do reserve the right to get their own vet involved to agree the treatment before it is carried out so doesn't hurt to ask the question.

I've only had a bill of sale when I've bought from an auction or dealer. Two of mine have no bill of sale but are insured with Nfu. I'm worried now that if I want to claim, they won't pay out as no bill of sale. We've had them a number of years, one 17 years.

Sorry OP for jumping on thread. Hope you get the problems sorted soon!

We had my old TB pts last September and claimed, I think it took until November/December to fully sort out.

I did have petplan query a "delay" between condition onset (cough) and treatment. It was only 5 days during the first lockdown but they tried to say they'd only cover respiratory if the vet was called at the first sign of a cough. Vet thankfully wrote and said that in their opinion they could not have been called earlier and petplan also had our history for 12 years, but it shows they are alert to delays between "onset" and "treatment" ...
