Probably been done a hundred times but just got my renewal for the two dogs through Tesco and they have almost doubled my premium from £21 to £40 a month! Is this normal?
Older dog is only 4 so not exactly a pensioner and younger one is just 15 months.
 
That sounds a bit steep, have you had any claims in the last year. I stopped insuring my dogs as the premiums got ridiculous, just put money away each month. When I got my new pup last year I looked into insuring her. I managed to get cover for vets fees only for £5 a month by adding it on to my NFU household policy (obviously only an option if you are with the NFU

). It gives limited cover for 12 months only but still think its good value.

No claims last year so no idea why. Anyway rang morethan and have taken out a new policy for both of them under £27 and more cover.
I am a little cheesed off with NFU they seem to quibble everything at the moment (I suppose they all do). Have all horses and trailer insured with them already.
