Hi guys, advice please, had renewal from petplan equine who want to charge me £54 a month for 10 year old,, healthy, happy hacking and local shows, connemara gelding. Cost seems to have shot up so did a price comparison thing, anyone heard of/ used insuremy horse.co.uk, basically half the price, or anyone know of good insurers, ones to avoid. Thanks in advance.
Jess.

I was recommended NFU when I had to insure Lil recently. Not the cheapest but much cheaper than petplan, and, most importantly, I'm told that they will pay up if you make a claim.

NFU all the way. like dwi said, they may not be the cheapest but I found they were way cheaper than PetPlan.
For example, i got a quote for just one of my mares (same info as on NFU insurance) they were quoting £1500pa just for her, which is what im paying for all 3 of my mares!
Also ive just insured my new horse (5yo, 14.2hh haflinger) and increased the value on another and its working out at another £220 per year.

I have a similar pony a 7 year old NF and I am with NFU and it is £28 a month and that includes tack but not loss of use and not public liability. I am a gold member of BHS and that covers me for the public liability.

The more you insure your pony for the more it will cost mine is only insured for £3000 so again that keeps the costs lower.
