Im insured with NFU
I claimed just over £4000 on vet bills last year, so I was expecting my monthly bill to go up.
But I now have to pay £55 a month!!!! Is this about what others are paying or is it as high as I think it is

Id like to see if I can get it a bit cheaper somewhere else, But I dont know what companies are good for insuring?

i will alwyas use petplan. they have paid out several large claims and not once have they increased my premium. I am so happy with them I couldnt recommend them enough.

I just moved to KBIS as they were a heck of a lot cheaper than NFU (who I was with last year). I got some feedback from people on here and they seemed OK so I went with them.

I pay £48.00 a month for Mr M with SEIB and I've never claimed from an insurance co. in my life, so I don't know, depends what your insured for (activity wise) and how much you insure your horse for.

My NFU premium went through the roof in May despite not having claimed for a couple of years and this seems to be a common problem with NFU. I went to KBIS after reading good reports on here, I got a really good deal and they were very helpful :)

Another with PetPlan that has with previous horses claimed and not seen a dramatic increase in premium, and with the current, although they didnt pay out for a lot of veterinary work (she's only covered for injury as on the veteran plan) they didnt change my premium, plus I've always found them an absolute pleasure to deal with,

I used to be with SEIB

till they said they wont cover my mare for illness, I got a quote from Kbis. which seemed ok till you read the small print

like you not covered if you don't notify them the same day . so we canceled all insurances and putting into a vet bill account and all direct debits go in there and when we need it its there.

> I gave SEIB over 5 grand since 2003 and never made one claim.

trouble is with all these insurances once your horse is a veteran your not covered for any illness or disease.
