I know many insurance companies don't insure horses past sietin ages (my insurance wouldn't insure past 20)
Is this wrong?
As many horses are living longer and many are still being riden way on past teen (I never heard about a horse in his twneties doing burly or badminton, although this may not be true) so should insurance companies make the age limit longer ?
I think they should
What's every one else's view?

Some companies will insure horses aged 20+ but only for injury, not illness.

It's because 'generally' older horses are more susceptible to illness. The horse's aged 20 and over are more likely to get arthritis etc compared to a 5 year old. I've said it before - insurance is all about assessing the risk!

petplan will insure but at 20 only for accidental external injury. Im sure the other big ones do too. If you want full ver cover - put the premiums in a savings account instead
