Insurance

Hi All,

I'm currently on the hunt for some insurance for myself and my loan pony (5yr old welsh part-bred gelding).

I will definitely be getting third party insurance, and personal rider cover, and maybe vet fee cover too.

Does anyone have any recommendations for any insurance companies? General advice also welcomed!

Become a gold member of BHS and you'll get third party/public liability and personal accident insurance/legal advice included.

Does your pony's owner not already have him insured for vet fees? I'm with KBIS and can't fault them (for horse), don't have rider insurance anymore (or more than what the BHS cover), but once upon a time I was with PetPlan.

Thanks, I will look at the BHS membership. I have got a quote from Petplan and they're reasonable I think.
No, when we spoke about it she said for the type of pony he is they are quite hardy, and should anything arise then she would pay it from her pocket as it were. Obviously if anything happens to him whilst in my care then that would fall to me hence wondering if I should take it out or not.
