I am thinking about insuring Tawny. We normally do our dogs for two years until they have grown out of eating lego and socks, and then stop.
I would, however, go to great lengths if Tawny needed anything, with provisos (cancer, and would not amputate a limb). There are though lots of mighty expensive injuries and illnesses apart from those two.
She has a long vet history, mainly from working injuries. She had lots of tail problems, but that is now gone; she has also impaled both her stifles and had recurring lameness in her front legs (from sore paws but there were vet visits associated). If they would therefore exclude her legs it would not be worth doing. She has also lots of ear infections! How can I find out what they will accept? Will they need a vet history? That is not a problem except I think I have to pay the vets to produce one! I have never insured an adult dog so not sure how to find out.
Thank you.
