I've had a search but can't find what I'm looking for!!
My ridden horse is now 17. Currently insured with E and L. No complaints. Around £20 a month but doesn't have the vet cover I want but has additions I don't want ie tack cover.

All I really need is good vet cover and 3rd party incase he gets out on the road or I fall off out hacking. My renewal is in August so will discuss changes with E and L. The insurance emporium quoted £35 a month, still cheap, upto £5000 vets cover. Any other suggestions please?

If you just want third party and catastrophe cover, then I think Harry Hall and/or World Horse Welfare do this. It is for up to two horses, iirc.

It was a lot cheaper than the 'proper' cover. It wouldn't cover any illness though, such as arthritis, or a ligament strain. Just injury from a specific blow etc.

I’m with animal insurance, they’re fantastic. Handled the claim with my Connie very well and never had any issues with payment. I pay £250 excess and I think my vet fees are up to 6k

£35 a month for vet fees up to £5k sounds cheap? This is full lameness cover?

I've been with them over 20 years and never had an issue!! Up until the last renewal vets fees were covered , at the moment he's only covered for accidental external injury.

Try an equine insurance broker- they might be able to find policies/ providers not widely available if you buy independently.

I think the equine insurance bureau is the name of the one I’ve used in the past.
