Just wondering how much your paying for dog insurance for senior dogs. I am looking to change companies has my policy has nearly doubled this year even though I have never claimed. Anyone have any recommendations.

Insurance Imporium.

It is time limited and covers £4000 per condition.

Was £300 for this year for my 10yo Lurcher.

I do have to pay 20% of any claims plus an excess (can't recall the amount, maybe £100 ish)

It isn't the most comprehensive of policy by any means, but they have been pretty good.

Paid out £8k across two conditions for my late whippet.

Have paid out on arthritis related blood tests and meds over the last policy year on my lurcher. Plus paid out with no concerns on a collapse episode. Again bloods and also heart scan.

They would not be my first choice and by no means gold standard, but they are an okay cheaper alternative.

Just bear in mind anything you’ve seen a vet for, even if you didn’t claim , will likely be excluded by a new insurer .
