I was looking into Inter Dressage and was thinking that I may give it a go!

I'm still a learner rider and been just getting back into riding after turning horses out for the summer. But now i have my main boy back, was thinking of setting an aim of competing in Inter Dressage, when I'm more able anyway.

I was just wondering, does anybody else participate in this? Also, do you have any tips? :p

I have done a couple dressage tests and an inhand showing one with my last mare. Its really good, especially for people who dont have transport so cant get out to shows!

As soon as my new saddle arrives for my new boy i'll be practicing and doing some interdressage and the showing classes.

I dont know what your riding is like but there is a walk and trot test as well as prelim standard walk/trot/canter test.

When you get your test back you will also get a lot of tips on how to improve so in that way you get more back compared to what you would going to an unaffiliated dressage. :)

Give it a go! You got nothing to lose :D

Thanks for the reply JoJo!

My riding is still at the beginners stage. I've been on and off the last year but now, I'm in the situation where everythings ripe for me to just get on and progress.

I was looking at the walk/trot tests, I'd be aiming for that to begin with and then progress to the higher levels as i can.

It seems like a good way for a beginner to have an aim of competing, at home, while still learning the next levels of riding such as canter and jumping, I've still all that ahead of me.

The walk/trot test would definately be my short term aim though, along with in hand.

I haven't looked too much into that to be honest, must have a nosey!

Cool. Its totally non pressured too! I sometimes get a bit nervous in the warmup and competitions mainly because I get paranoid that people are watching me. So doing at home is more relaxing. I think the tips are written by a riding instructor so will help you progress.
