Cambridgeshire Countryside Alliance Inter-Hunt Adult Gymkhana Competition.

To be held at Manor Farm Equestrian Centre, Houghton, Nr. Huntingdon starting at 15:00.

Open to riders over 25 years of age. Horses of 15 hands or over (no ringers from the Prince Philip Cup, please).

There will be several different events (probably 6) and each Hunt will field 4 competitors per event. There is no limit to the size of your team. You can bring only 4 riders all of whom do every event or 24 riders to do one event each.

Some events will involve mounting and dismounting. Mounting blocks will be provided.

Masters and Hunt Staff are particularly encouraged to take part. Prior practising is unnecessary and possibly immoral.

Entry fee £20 per team (based on 4 members @ £5. However Hunts are encouraged to collect £5 per team member. It is for a good cause after all…).

But the main point is: Bring spectators! Spectators £5 per head. (Children under 12: £2).

The profit for the Countryside Alliance will not be made from you bringing a team – it will be made from you bringing lots of other supporters to watch your team make fools of themselves. This is why Masters and Staff are particularly encouraged to participate.

Bar, raffle and hog-roast.

Hi
i hunt regularly and love the sound of this fun event, only problem is the horse i would like to do it on is only 14.2 ,would this be a possibility or is 15hh a definite size.
Im sure it would be much more fun seeing adults doing the games on smaller ponies. please let me know.
Thanks
DG

We set it at 15HH to stop adults from nicking their children's ponies and entering on them. There are several entries from masters on 17HH horses so it was thought it might be rather unfair if adults on ponies entered too.

If you drop an e-mail to the organiser [office@fitzwilliamhunt.com] - he will be able to clarify whether you'd be allowed to enter on your steed.

There are 6 teams entered, so it should be a good afternoon's entertainment.

If you are in the area, come along.

Adults £5; Children (Under 12) £2.

Bar; Raflle; Hog Roast
