Lily-Rose has been to the vets a couple of times with an interdigital cyst on her front paw, which she has some medication for. We’ve now just noticed another is forming on her other paw.
She has naturally quite webbed feet so wonder if this is a possible cause. She’s booked in next week at the vets to see if she’s going to need surgery (they wanted her to have a weeks worth of antibiotics and anti inflammatorys first)

Anyone had any experience of them?

I do have a yucky picture if anyone wants to see it.

I'm a bit late to this thread but this is something our Vizsla suffers from, he's had a few incidences over the years, he also has webbed feet.

Our Vet thinks it is allergy related, possibly something environmental but we've never pinned it down to anything specific.

He had his first bout when he was about a year old, he's 11 now and has had random flare ups over the years. Antibiotics have always worked well for him and our vet advised that in his opinion surgery is a last resort as it can be very painful.

I hope you get some answers, it's been a bit of a nuisance for us but each episode has been swiftly resolved with antibiotics so hopefully this gives you some hope that it's manageable, even in the long term.

We went back to the vet this week and they’ve given her another week of antibiotics and pain killers. They’ve suggested keeping her feet and pads clipped really short (good job I’m a groomer!) and to wash her feet in water after every walk.

I remember reading one of the James Herriott books a good while ago, and there was a mention there of a dog with this problem. The advice he'd given was to just leave it alone and let the dog deal with it.

My little Lakeland terrier X developed one a few years back; and the vet we had then (now sadly retired) gave the same advice, other than to watch the situation where if deemed necessary he would administer anti-biotics.
