Interesting how the photos used in adverts can paint a whole different picture

Whilst looking at adverts I came across this mare on two different sites. Too lightweight for the sort of thing I am looking for, but I thought it was very interesting how the different photos the advertiser had used on the two sites painted a very different picture of the horse for sale - to me at least.

Thoughts invited - not on the horse itself as I know nothing about it and it seems a perfectly nice horse, but on the photos and what they portray.

I know people often post about which photos to use and normally I would say side on confo shots, but in this case I'm not sure.

the photos on horsemart, despite being poor quality, paint the mare in a MUCH better light. She looks like something from the sales in the horsequest photo, poor lass, not flattering at all to me.
She sounds a real sweetie :)

Sorry, but she looks the same in both ads: very weak, ewe necked and not at all what I'd be looking to event. Riding horses should always be shown moving, IMO, and a well stood up conformation shot is a great help for the prospective buyer (although in this case it does her no favours).

prefer the first advert. On the second one you can see the horse jumping but the photos are pretty rubbish and wouldn't catch my eye.

I must be thick, cant see it. Very over priced and long pasterns, but that is all I see.

Yer thats all i see, looks a 600 quid horse to me!!
If it had been schooled that well it wouldnt look like that. And although its jumping those jumps it looks like its heaving itself over some of them.

Ok, I'll accept that I was wrong. It's not the sort of horse I would be interested in so didn't look too closely. Just that to me,the first impressions of each advert were very different, which again to me, illustrates that the sort of photos you use can be influential.

I would be a bit concerned also that the first ad states the horse is in southern Ireland and the owner East Sussex, no mention of that on second ad.

very intresting how a horse can looks so different, I'd just click off the first one possibly not even read , but on the second the photos are still bad quality but much better.
