Hi
I'm a first year college student, taking my AS levels at the moment. We've been given the oppurtunity to do an extended project, researching this summer and finishing in the autumn.
For anyone who doesn't know, an extended project is almost like a mini dissertation. It's an essay, usually about 20 pages long which you have to present to an audience at the end. You're expected to research your chosen topic in quite a lot of detail and spend a lot of time working on it.
Here's the good bit: it can be on absoloutely anything that you like. I've seen some great ones recently on anything from 'a study on snake venom and it's effect on the body' to 'is serial killing a form of autism?'
Anyway, back to my question, I want to do one on a veterinary/animal related topic, seeing as I want to apply for vet school in september and the subject fascinates me. Can anyone think of any really interesting questions, illnesses, areas to look at? I know there are loads out there but I can't think of them off the top of my head!
Thanks
