Really interesting article - and easy to understand It actually makes me feel better about one of ours that we lost as it explains quite well why treatment did not work.

Thanks for posting that. Only had time to read the first couple of pages but I will go back and read the rest later.

Interesting that IM medications (Adequan etc) were rated as a 4-5 out of 10 in efficacy. I know this is purely anecdotal but I know when my horse was first treated with Adequan, a couple of years ago, it appeared to have a huge effect. Two and half years down the line, and several courses of Adequan later, he has it again this spring and it seemed to have a much more limited effect. Presumably the effect it has reduced as the damage to the joint has increased over time.
