Somehow happened upon this video on youtube and couldnt help but watch the whole thing.

Starts with a stunning mule, then he starts tacking it up, all pretty much as you would expect, then comes the moment where you go 'errrrrm'.

See if you can spot that moment, lol!

All I can say is what a well behaved mule with that obnoxious man on its back, saddle too far forward, harsh bit, and what the heck is the point of trotting on a lot of boards.

As far as I know the boards are sounding boards, used in competitions for paso finos for judges to judge the cadence and rhythm of the gaits by the sound of the footfall. I'd guess these mules are at a barn that also trains pasos. As for the rest of the video...well, a great mule I'd say. I've just got back from mule days in California, a 3 day mule celebration. I'll get some videos uploaded of mules at their best.

please dont think i am trying to bash the man in the video, i know different styles of riding mean different equipment etc. Was simply that i was enjoying the video and then after watching him place the saddle it suddenely goes whoosh up its neck, i kept thinking 'he'll move it back in a minute' but nope, lol

Whole thing looks uncomfortable, mule looks shut down and fearful. Not how I would want any animal of mine to behave.
