Just to clarify - well aware how many foals etc were probably by the same ones! I'm not trying to mke he's anything amazing...he was a pants race horse lol.

But after getting re-hooked on a certain book the Mother had sent me ages ago which I've only just gotten round to reading again...a few names which were mentioned in there regarding bloodlines, made me realise I already knew of them for some reason....
and the reason I found is here!:

Bustie's Dam! The parts interesting to me....
Back 5 - Princequillo and Nasrullah. Mentioned in a certain book which got my attention originally.

Back 4 - Somethingroyal. A certain damn to a big red lad....

Back 3 - Sir Gaylord. A certain half brother to a big red lad.....

Sorry. Completely not important and doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to my lad at all....he's gelded and never came anywhere racing haha! But that's the 3rd horse that's happened to me with now where I've had one 'famous' horse that I've been obsessed with since a kid, and ended up with a horse that's descended somehow from it without even knowing! [The one before was Splodgy, who had his gradnsire being Arko III - who is like, my hero.]

Haha. Small world.

Anyone guessed the horse yet?

You have Nebo Black Magic in there, I LOVE him, he doesn't appear in my colt's lines, although we have Nebo Brenin and Nebo Daniel.

If you look right back through the sire lines for my colt, the first stallions that appear are called Broccoli and Cauliflower :p I prefer the dam's line lol

I'm sorry, but I don't think the website is any good unless you have an American TB - I've just put both my TBs in - they come up with horses of the same name - but American and no relation to mine at all!!

Stupid thing posted before I was finished. Tobougg is Ethels sire, for some reason her dam doesn't come up but her name is Kallistas Pride.
Ethel never raced so never got named so can't link to her directly.

Yeah she's quite well bred, unfortunately she was too small and my my boss didn't think much of her so (fortunately for me) I was given her :)

Here's my ex-racer, she was bred in Ireland and has about 30 ancestors in common with OPs horse :)

:D

LOL!! When I put both mine in - my old one was Rebel King who was a 1990 horse by Doc Marten - it comes up with one from 1998 - totally different horse, and my other, Blue Acre is a 9 year old mare by Heron Island - that is also a different horse on the site!!!

That's because you have to add them, there is no automatic upload on all breeds, the American's use it much more than most here which is why you will see more US TB's on it. For TB peds this site is much better
http://www.pedigreequery.com/
If you are going to use it PLEASE read the instructions and if you are unsure ASK, am happy to help out, BUT PLEASE do check thoroughly that your horse is not already on All Breeds BEFORE you add it, check the spelling. There are so many crap entries and duplicates on there because people do not check, then it gets very messy if you are researching and PLEASE do not change other peoples horses, make sure you have your details correct and that you have the correct parents from the correct breeds selected.

Can you add a horse to the Pedigreequery site if they don't have a name on their passport? I haven't read the rules about adding horses but I'd like to know if I could add her to the site :)

Haha yes same!!!! I was like 'Who the heck would call them that?!?'

You have to put your own horse in if it isn't on there. I added my mare to it :)

You can go on sport horse database too and have more info on there for breeding - again, you can add yours on it. It also comes up wioth links to progeny etc. Found all my mares foals that way :)

Ooh I remember doing this for my old loan horse- it was so fun to see all his interesting relatives! He had a few interesting ones, including Alleged, Man o' War.. (his sire was Montelimar).

Like the OP's horse, he was a bit of a failed racehorse too ;)

This little colt also has secretariat in his lines - his great great great grand sire. Fairly well removed from his racehorse background now ;)

Although a registered Dutch Warmblood, my boy has a lot of interesting TBs in his pedigree too, including The Tetrarch (Undefeated Irish racer, voted Britain's Two-Year-Old of the 20th Century),Bend Or (After whom Bend Or spots are named, though Ro doesn't have them) and Robert the Devil who was viewed as Bend Or's big rival!
Other notable tbs include Persimmon, St Simon, Alice Hawthorn, The Flying Dutchman and Galopin.

I've counted 6 winners of the st leger so far, I'm bored now! :p

You can add anything you like providing you know the sire and dam otherwise there is little point, what I would do is look at the sire and dam first, drop down the reports list and choose "progeny" if you know the year of birth you can sometimes with dams find out the registered name as they are unlikely to have 2 offspring in the same year, if there is nothing there then you can add yours with the stable name.

If you subscribe you can do all sorts of fancy reports with it, which is why I use it and why my anger management program derails when people put in loads of duplicates with slightly different spellings and change my TB mare to a warmblood regularly!!!

Ah when I was speaking to the historian at the British Racing Museum, there is some evidence to suggest that the Tetrarch was actually a year older than was claimed, making him the best 3 year old racing against 2 year olds in the 20th C! Oops our naughty ancestors!
