Interesting topic.. whats your opinion on this

I think it's great that horses can be trained and used in this way...but they need to be horses when not working...grazing outside...preferably with herd mates.

You can rely on me to have an opinion!

If this is the only life the horse comes to know, it will probably be happy enough, but I would draw the line at allowing it to live entirely within the house!

I think it is a good idea (well to an extent - not suggesting we should have our horses in our houses) but if the horse is happy and well cared for then why not. Although I do think it should be be allowed to go out into a field at some point.

I think its a good idea but like Shilasdair said, it should be able to be a horse when not working. And i dont think it should be used like this all day every day it is still a horse after all.

Buy a great dane???

I agree that horses should have a 'job' to do. Most are happier this way. However, I still think we should provide them with a basic requirement of turnout and grazing when not working to satisfy their natural needs.

I think its barmy !! what wrong with a good ol' electric wheelchair and a dog to help with things like picking up the telephone etc ? there are an awful lot of disabled people out there who manage without a pony. nope, I don't like it at all. a pony in an apartment ??????? whatever next ?

Human rights? I don't think this silly cow knows the meaning of the term. Not being allowed to keep a damn horse in your flat is NOT a violation of your human rights. Civil rights, possibly, but not human rights.

It is not fair on the horse to keep it in a 1mx2m stall in a living room and never let it go and be a horse. Yes, there are people whoahve mini horses instead of guide dogs, but msot of those poeple live in suburban or rural areas where their horses have access to paddocks and grazing. What about company for the poor horse? Dogs are different, they will bond to their owners, but horses aren't like that, they need other horses.

Dont agree with it, big or small it's a horse with horses needs, horses are a herd animal and "designed" to live out in the open grazing with others of it's own kind, I dont mind it pulling her wheelchair into town but not living away from other horses indoors all the time, I hope while they are considering "her" human rights they also consider more importantly the "animals" rights, the animal has cant speak for itself, if it ends up unhappy and kicks off in the only way it knows to express itself then some other arsehole will come along say it's dangerous and then kill it in the name of safety.

Yes I did wonder. I don't know the first thing about driving but surely a yearling would be too young! What about all the mess in the house and hay everywhere?

Unless you want a crippled horse, id suggest not driving a yearling..

Its far to physically and mentally immature to be dragging a cart about.. Around an apartment.. What an awful idea..

Where do these people get their ideas from?? Stick it in the garden on grazing, leave it there for 3 years, then it can drag you about!!

As a yearling it should NOT be pulling anything as heavy as a human and no pony should be kept indoors all the time. Tell her to get a dog.

Not fair to keep it indoors all the time and a yearling?
Not convinced it isn't because the woman likes having him rather than needs him, is he castrated as can see that being a potential issue.
Quite agree with the landlord, would make a fair mess in your apartment! Not a human rights issue. Would the landlord allow her a guide dog?
And did anyone note the 1m x 2m stall thats 3 by 6 ft..not enough for anything I don't think!
