Took Evie for our Wednesday evening walk tonight, with my friend and her GSD, and had a wetting ourself laughing moment followed by a sh****ng ourselves moment.
Went a lovely walk round a permissive bridleway, big wide headlands round barley. At one point the 2 dogs picked up a scent into the crop, following a fairly worn track obviously made by an animal. As they got deeper in they both disappeared from sight and then started leaping up like a pair of tiggers, just their heads and ears appearing briefly. We were both struggling to call them back we were laughing so much, and then a badger shot across in front of us and we realised that was what they were hunting  Cue panic as we realised that there was a chance they would get bitten or we would be accused of badger baiting. Luckily we both use whistles for serious "I want you back now" moments, and thank heavens they did both come back, with lots of looking over the shoulders and "please mum we had nearly caught it" looks.
Last time we did this walk Evie put up a hare and disappeared over the horizon, I'm beginning to think its all very well walking round areas designed to encourage wildlife but perhaps not very good for the nerves.

Well it hadn't gone down its sett so don't think it counts. We were wondering how we were going to explain it to the vet if they had got bitten :p It was huge, made a hell of a noise crashing through the undergrowth, I think its possible that as they got closer to it they decided that it was a bit big to argue with and it was better to pretend to be obedient:D
