I have a 5 year old cob x tb who's hinds intermittently fill. She is on 24/7 turnout in a fatty paddock. The filling first occured when turned out into a different field. But now she is back in her fatty paddock they intermittently fill on no grass too. Once exercised they return to normal but someones are filled come the next morning.
I have started to exercise her in schooling wraps which again help.

Anyone come across this before?
Any suggestions / contradictions using schooling wraps during exercise. She is quite close behind so do pop on some sort of hind boot on her.

My mums horse started getting filled legs a couple of weeks ago... He was 100% sound and they went down with exercise.
The vet found a tiny scratch, and he was put on antibiotics which has resolved the problem.
If she's close behind, maybe she has caught herself.
Check my previous threads, and you will see the responses I had :)

I know of a few horses legs who fill when stabled, especially in winter when they are stabled for longer. It's usually to do with their circulation and goes down quickly when they are turned out or exercised. My friend had her mare checked and this was what the vet told her. There are lots of herbal remedies you could try that are helpful for fluid retention.

Thank you for your replies. I have ordered some clivers for her. Vet attended another horse on the yard so got him to look at mine too. He seemed to think her tendon sheath is inflammed.
Given her history (she was obese as a younster before i got her) the vet also thinks there may be a tendency for her legs to fill. He said to keep her fit and on the lighter side.
