Interview with a killer buyer. :'-(

Only listened to a short part of that, unreal how these people think - I just don't get it, no compassion at all, are they just devoid of emotion or have they become that way because they have to as it's their job? Just can't get my head round it

Omg what a total and utter cu next Tuesday that man is!!
Yes I eat meat yes I know that slaughter is not a bad thing but good god treat live animals with some fooking respect.

How would he like his eyeball burst. I am gob smacked

I could watch very little of that before it made me vomit. Heaven knows i don't like my horses to misbehave, especially when loading but that has shocked me dreadfully. I think i need to go and give my nags a cuddle and tell them they will never go through anything like that whilst I have the chance to prevent it.

I never usually watch these videos but I watched most of this one and I wish to God I didn't. I am not sure how you stop this (I assume it is in the US) but is it this bad in this country??? I must be very naive as I really did not realise how bad it could be.:(

Absolutely disgusting, but it did sound to me that he was regretting his actions and was 'whistle blowing'. There were no surprises for me either, anyone with half a brain would realise that kill buyers have no feeling for the horses and are just out to make a fast buck. At least Obama has re legalised slaughter in the US which means that horses now no longer have to suffer the horrendous journeys to Mexico and Canada, they are still slaughtered but there is far less suffering on the journey and a quick bullet rather than a Mexican machete.

I only hope that the fluffies do not try and reintroduce a ban and condemn American horses to the journeys described in the video.

It was in the US, they have some strange ideas about horse slaughter over there having banned it with an out of sight out of mind attitude, at least they are reopening the abattoirs now so some will not have to suffer these long and horrific journeys to Mexico or as in this case Canada.

In this country things are more regulated, there are, I think, only 2 abattoirs for horses destined for human consumption, they will be monitoring how the horses arrive and apart from accidental damage would decline any that arrived in the state those poor creatures were in. This would stop any regular users from treating their income, which is what the horses is to them, so brutally that they will get no money, the RSPCA may not always be much use but in situations such as this it will be very easy for them to act.

I cannot imagine how any "human" can inflict such cruelty on any living animal it is really beyond comprehension, how do they sleep at night or go to work in the morning to do it again, killing is one thing but that treatment is just barbaric.

This is what makes me SO livid about horse slaughter (and why I am vegan!) - it isn't even about the fact that they are killed. It's the utterly unnecessary, deliberate torture that is inflicted upon the animals - and not just horses but cattle, poultry, pork - that is so blatantly wrong. These people are sick and deserve to rot in hell.

As we know though many thousands in OUR country are transported to europe in horrendous conditions destined for the meat market... (by the way I couldn't watch the video but I can imagine its horrors) If you look at the legal guidlines they actually sound fairly good and it would put your mind at rest... BUT they are NOT policed. And europe are not sticking to them at all so if they are not policed and europe unlike the uk are not sticking to the regulations then what is the point of having them.

I just don't understand how it ever got to this and how this... And how life and the treatment giving to animals like this can be given no thought.

Absolutely - well said!

This is why we should all support WHW's campaign to end live transport. Personally I am of the opinion that in this day and age of refridgeration, nothing needs to travel live, that includes all farm animals too.

Imagine how you would feel if you recognised one of your own horses on that video (if it was in UK).

But once upon a time every one of those horses was somebody's horse and someone's responsibility.

Oh how they failed them.

I'm vegan too :)
I am not going to watch it, i have seen far too many similar video's. The meat industry is a cruel and heartless industry where animals are just seen as money rather than as a living thing. I would quite happily put a bullet in the heads of the people in that video.

This ^^

Its sick to think that someone let their horse get to this. I would be heartbroken if I saw my horse on one of these videos. I have sold horses before but horses that are re-sell able. Its exactly the reason I have had horses/ponies PTS, so they dont end up in places like that.

I hope he and the others involved rot in hell.
RIP poor horses
