Is there any vets/vet students out there?
I have two interviews this week and was wondering what type of things you were asked about! Help... sooo scared!

Thanks x

alot on the work experience I have done, what I gained from it etc

some questions on current animal welfare issues (for me was like badger tb issues, foot and mouth, blue tongue etc) so make sure you are up to date! (so check defra website etc)

If i was interested in a certain area of practice (although I def want to do equine, I said I had a particular interest in equine but I am looking forward to learning about all areas of the profession! dont make yourslef sound limited!!!)

and then just had a nice general convo!
where are your interviews at?!

It was a long time ago for me - but I was asked about the salmonella egg crisis, factory farming and BSE.
I was also asked why sheep lambed later in Scotland to those in England when I had an interview at Edinburgh, and had to run through the basic cat spey procedure so you do need some practical knowledge as well as general knowledge.

My brother has just had his interview for Bristol (and got an offer the following day

). From what I can remember, he was asked about his work experience, quite a lot of stuff about the milking he did (common problems etc), small animal vaccs and euthanasia ethics. Also some more technical science stuff that I wouldn't have a clue about I am afraid! One of the interviewers also liked fishing so they asked him a lot about that too. Good luck for your interviews.
One thing my brother did say was the some of the other candidates seemed quite introverted when he spoke to them, I think the interviewers like to see that you are a confident, rounded person!
