Well i have 4 horses. 3 have been together for 2yrs and the 4th is my new 2yr old.
During winter we have to move to a 20 acre field and be fielded together. All of the horses have been next door but seperate for the last 3 months as they all reqiured different amounts of grass lol.
I have been trying to slowly introduce each of them in pairs with the new horse. the 3 old horses get on well and my Welsh a 4yr old and my 17yr old both get on well with the new one when in a pair.
I am haviing problems with my 6yr old. he really doesn't like him, we have tried introducing slowly and he wont leave him alone. he actually jumped electric fencing once to get in with him and beat him up to.
Since this we have been grazing the pair in0hand together to get them used to each other some more
When the original group are together the 6yr old is not 'top dog' the 17yr old is and he gets on fine with the new horse
Well done for getting this far! I am wondering what to do for the best, Carry on slowly doing things in pairs / 3's then all together or just go for it and see what happens (take shoes off first tho?)
Cookies for getting this far!
