Probably a bit of a numpty alert here....so apologies in advance.
I am not a jumper, with my previous mare we did a couple of clear rounds, had maybe a handful of jumping lessons in days when dinosaurs walked the earth:D and we were always happy pop a log out hacking....so really no experience at all.
The newish horse , 6 yrs old, but a little backwards in her education, has been working on her flat work and hacking and has finally got a far more positive attitude to work.
We have done lunging over poles, walked and trotted under saddle and earlier this week, a friend set up the tiniest cross pole in the world and the mare happily trotted over it and seemed very keen, in a good way.
So, any ideas for how we continue this, develop it.
A lovely friend, good BS rider is happy to do the more technical stuff, but I would like to do some of the work myself.
Thanks in advance:)

I usually start with trotting poles and then a small cross pole at the end, you can build this up into a grid if you want, I then go on to a single fence with placing poles working up to a small course and including combinations.

The important thing to remember is that it is the quality of the work between the fences rather than the actual fence that is important, so working on a good approach with balance and impulsion and then focusing on the ride away after the fence keeping the rhythm.
