So, today was the big day! Didn't sleep very well last night - not sure whether that was down to the cheese I ate or just being so excited about picking up Cameo.
I can't believe how easy this purchase has been. Still keep pinching myself to check I'm not dreaming. And how great was it when the seller said she had to bring another horse up to Boomerang today which is is around 9 miles from me, saving me a 50 mile trip there and back to pick my lovely new boy up. Boomerang was heaving this morning, probably because it was the first decent weather we've had in weeks. Cameo wandered off the lorry, happily tied up next to mine, seller's travel stuff off, my stuff on - didn't bat an eyelid despite loads of excited horses around.
Suited and booted ready to come home:
He travelled really well and only made a noise when we passed other horses in their fields (living in the Lambourn valley there are quite a few!). Unloaded him and couldn't believe how chilled he was.
Popped him into his stable for a while - he loved playing with his new equine dodecahedron. I've never had a horse that liked toys before!!
After a while, I decided he was so relaxed I turned him out for little grass.
Caught him, gave him a groom and tucked him into bed. What a happy horsey and an even happier me!
