I lost my beloved lurcher Bosworth (aged 16) on the 23rd April after a short illness. I had always said I would get a puppy as soon as I lost Boz as the hole he left would be so huge. So I would like to introduce you to Flodden, my Bedlington puppy.

He is now just 10 weeks old. and absolutely wonderful, he will never replace by wonderful Boz but he is really filling a huge hole already. He is called Flodden as that was the battle after Bosworth in english history. Also as he is a Bedlington terrier he is from Northumberland - and the battle of Flodden was fought in Flodden - Northumberland.

He has recall, from more than 100 yards, and really flies towards me when I call. He is house trained. I have had him 2 weeks and not one poo in the house. He understands the word no, and responds immediately. He adores my cat following him around the garden. 2 days after i got him we went to friends for a meal, there were 4 black labs, 1 golden retriever, my other lurcher and Flodden. He was a star. fitted in perfectly, totally relaxed about meeting the other dogs and new people.

Poppy my other dog is slowly starting to come round to him, she was in mourning for Bosworth, really very upset, and it has taken her time to accept she has to share a house with a puppy, but she is starting to see potential in him.

He is crate trained now so Poppy gets loads of time without Flodden being in her face, and he just takes himself off to his crate is I am busy and has a snooze. I have never known such an easy puppy.

he is a superb puppy, thank you CC. Makes me laugh several times a day. The video of Poppy and him is great, she couldnt be bothered to get up and tell him off and he knew he was being rather brazen so was erring on the side of caution. Sorry the first photo is on its side, I have no idea why, it is correct in photobucket.

Its not on the side for me

Ets. And being thick I hadn't realised that was a video, just watched it, what a cracker he is. :)

Right way up for me as well, he is adorable and dosnt look real, looks like one of those wind up toys, was expecting back flips in the video:D

Very sorry for the loss of Bosworth, they leave a huge hole dont they?.

Love the name Flodden, hope you dont have a battle on your hands with him.:D

yaaaaay this morning it is the right way up! He reminds me of a wind up toy, especially when I take him into the hay field, he looks like a demented rabbit on speed. Our builder turned up the other day and was really shocked when the stuffed toy on the stairs suddenly trotted off.

:D What a lovely boy, and so 'grown up', too!

It often takes a pup to relieve the mourning of a lost dog. I speak from experience on this, and it was the best thing we did - ever! :)

Good luck with him. You realise we expect regular updates! ;):D

Brilliant! He looks such a little character and I love the hairdo! I don't think I have ever seen a Bedlington outside of Crufts, but he is a little stunner! Fantastic name, as well, Flodden!

I hope you have a lot of fun with him.

Hellllooooooooooo Flodden, he is super cute!!

I would love to know what they are saying to eachother in that vid!!! :D

Well as to what is being said in the video - its obvious - Poppy is saying 'get lost , its my chew, don;t even look at it' and Flodden is saying' i want i want i want i want, please please - oooooooooo scared, i want i want I want, oooooo scared '
Bedlingtons are definitely a northern dog, I had to search hard to find a puppy south of Birmingham, but i have to say his breeder was fantastic, never known such a well done pup.
