Thought id better do a belated introduction of me and Harry
I used to own a lovely mare called Molly, welshie section d, had her for 7 years and did a bit of everything with her, she was fab but i sold her when we decided to start a family and she has a fab home now not a million miles away
Anyway, just before my son turned 3 i decided to look for a new pony, something i could break in to drive and something my son could ride in the future. I was looking for a mare (always had mares in the past) but couldnt not go and see this one, cheap and looked like he was a nice chap. Well, i turned up and fell in love with the dope and 4 hours later i went and collected him
Harry is a 3yr old (4 in june) reg'd welsh section c, he was rescued by his last owner from a field of emaciated ponies and he needed a job as loved attention. He'd had just basic handling up to when i bought him and he came home in September looking like this. He was aparantly not going to make show height but he isnt far off now, although i do think his slight cow hocks had something to do with his fate.
He went onto grass livery at a friends yard with great facilities and lots of hills in the fields, grass was better than he was used to and he settled in really well. We started slowly with handling but he tool everything in his stride. Just 12 weeks later we are about to put him to (carriage) for the first time, he is bombproof and hacks out on long reins most days along a decent road and round the villages, all with tyre behind
Weve had a battle with his weight as he's been such a poor doer but hes started to pick up a lot recently, a good worming helped as his worm count came back high.
Here he is today, i think he's looking much smarter and more muscled up, his neck is coming on really well with his work and i cant wait to get him going
